Area Committees
“An area committee has other officers who are responsible to the committee for special activities. Examples are public information and cooperation with the professional community chairs to head up the area PI and CPC committees; correctional and treatment facilities chairs to coordinate this vital Twelfth Step work; a literature chairperson to act as a liaison between various service entities; a Grapevine and La Viña chairperson to disseminate information on the magazines and other Grapevine materials; an archives chairperson to gather area history and maintain the area archives; a convention chairperson to facilitate this event; a finance chairperson to encourage self-support for both area needs and those of GSO; a liaison chairperson to foster communication between the area and the central office/intergroup, and other committee assignments and responsibilities as suggested by area needs.”

Archives
Archives service work is more than mere custodial activity; it is the means by which we collect, preserve, and share the rich and meaningful heritage of our Fellowship.
Accessibility
The Accessibilities Committee endeavors to make the life-saving message of AA available to all sick and suffering Alcoholics, no matter their limitations.
Cooperation with the Professional Comunity
CPC provides information about AA to those who have contact with alcoholics through their profession.
Corrections
The Corrections Committee works to coordinate with correctional facilities to carry the message to those alcoholics who reside in these facilities.
Grapevine
Written, edited, illustrated, and read by AA members and others interested in AA, the Grapevine is a lifeline linking one alcoholic to another.
Literature
Literature keeps the Area informed regarding available Conference-approved literature, audiovisual material, and other special items.
Public Information
Working together, members of Public Information committees convey AA information to the general public, including the media.
Treatment
Treatment Committees coordinate the work of individual AA members and groups who carry our message of recovery to alcoholics in treatment and outpatient settings.
Technology
The Technology Committee updates and maintains the area website and provides information and support regarding the tech needs of the area.
